The Peace in Kurdistan Campaign was established in 1994 in the UK, with the aim of working along with the Kurdish freedom movement as ‘unofficial ambassadors’, working to advocate for a peaceful, political resolution of the Kurdish question, as well as to build connections between the Kurdish movement and other movements around the world. Peace in Kurdistan said it "is inspired by the Kurdish movement’s program of democratic confederalism, and seeks to embody these organizing principles in its own method of work. To this end, Peace in Kurdistan has established networks of lawyers, trade union activists, artists, intellectuals and activists, working both to support the Kurdish movement, as well as to discuss and collaborate on various campaigns and solidarity works.

Additionally, Peace in Kurdistan has conducted numerous interviews with representatives from other movements around the world, as well as artists, politicians, and intellectuals about crucial issues facing the world today. Peace in Kurdistan has also established a Social Ecology Network, holding monthly sessions, each featuring speakers representing different struggles around the world, with an emphasis on ecological issues, and how they relate to the broader struggle. Themes of our sessions held thus far include the indigenous peoples of India (Adivasis), grassroots struggles in South Africa, and the Iran protest movement to name a few.

Additionally, primarily through the work of Dr Thomas Jeffrey Miley, lecturer at Cambridge University, and steering-committee member of Peace in Kurdistan, Peace in Kurdistan has helped to establish relations between the Kurdish freedom movement and the Grassroots Liberation Network (GLN) a network of political and community organizations based in the Mathare slum of Nairobi, Kenya, which has yielded delegations from the Kurdish movement to Mathare, as well as representatives from the GLN to meet and hold discussions with representatives of the Kurdish movement in Europe."
