PKK TEV-ÇAND Committee commemorates member Bawer Botan

PKK TEV-ÇAND Committee commemorated its member, Bawer Botan (Ehmed Tahir), who died while receiving treatment in Rojava on 5 November 2021, with "respect and gratitude".

The PKK TEV-ÇAND Committee issued a written condolence message for its member, Bawer Botan, "a revolutionary, an artist and a man of letters".

Bawer Botan (Ehmed Tahir), who died while receiving treatment in Rojava on 5 November 2021.

The message said: “Bawer Botan is one of the rare people who managed to combine revolution and art in his personality. The life of heval Bawer has been an indicator of how an artist feels responsible towards his people. Especially if the issue is the freedom of a people, heval Bawer knows how to have an exemplary stance and struggle.

Heval Bawer, a native of Siirt, grew up in Batman. Even in the early 1990s, heval Bawer enthused the people with his saz and strans and raised them to serhildan.

He formed a group called “Zembilfiroş” with his friends and he put his art at the service of revolutionary propaganda and therefore he soon became the target of the enemy.

Heval Bawer was imprisoned in the colonial fascist Turkish state before he turned 18. He gained great experience at a young age and joined the revolution. The torture and prisons of colonial fascism did not intimidate comrade Bawer, but he sharpened his hatred and anger towards the enemy. Heval Bawer resisted torture and had an honourable stance in prison.

He considered the prison a place to educate himself ideologically. He met İrfan Güler (Adil), whom he will meet at different times in his life, here and learned a lot from him. He learned a lot from his comrades in prison, both spiritually and morally, and he also knew how to give morale to his comrades with his energy, active participation in life, and also with his saz and stran.”

The statement continued: “Bawer did not hesitate for a moment to join the ranks of the revolution as a guerrilla after he was released from prison. He attracted attention with his courage and passion.

He recorded every moment he lived with his comrades on the mountain in his memory and wrote down these memories when the time came. In particular, due to the commitment and responsibility he felt towards his fallen comrades, he made an effort to perpetuate their memories and to keep them alive in the hearts of the people. He took part in the Zap resistance and wrote a book about it.

Heval Bawer is a comrade who made great contributions to the revolution in the field of art and literature as well as his revolutionary duties. He is the author of "Apo Light of Hope", the second book in the Leadership novel series. Doing his job seriously and taking success as a basis has come to the fore in these studies as a basic feature of heval Bawer. Before writing a book, he made detailed preparations and researched everything thoroughly. The book was highly appreciated and appreciated by the readers. This has been the biggest award for heval Bawer. His efforts were not in vain, and he lived the rightful honour and pride of serving the revolution and its comrades.

After the novel, he became interested in the field of cinema and focused on series. He started to write a screenplay dealing with self-government resistances, patriotism and betrayal and designed it as a series. After his work was accepted as a project, he rolled up his sleeves and embraced this work with all his hands. He worked diligently on this TV series, which was named "Tava Sor". Heval Bawer not only wrote the screenplay, but also took the responsibility of organizing almost the entire work. It can be said that he created a team from scratch and brought the TV series to the stage of shooting with scarce resources.

Heval Bawer loved his job. He was integrated with his work and motivated to the end. One of the most striking features of heval Bawer is that he is focused on his goal and did his best to achieve it. Laziness, procrastination, and indiscipline were the things that heval Bawer was most against.

He had built up confidence in his comrades that he would get results once he put his hand in something. The difficulties of the job and the obstacles in his way did not worry him. He would do whatever it took to reach the goal he set his mind to and believed in. For this, he was a laborer, practical and was in a constant rush. Bawer was not seen to be wasting his time. He was focused on his work and goals, even at the expense of his own health.

Those who have great ideals and dreams will also have great success. Heval Bawer also had big goals and dreams. He had a passion to achieve whatever the revolution needed. He wanted to do better, more. He was always active, on the move. He had many projects and things that he was working on. He would make the other ready before one was finished. He wanted to develop a school in Kurdish cinema. His dream was great. He also made great efforts to realize it.

Heval Bawer was an extraordinary comrade, an artist whose search never ceased, and a friend with a strong literary talent. There was so much he could do and achieve. He proved this with his life, experience and knowledge. Unfortunately, he left us untimely and joined the caravan of martyrs, while he still had a lot of work to do. It has been a great pain and an irreplaceable loss for us to lose friend Bawer so early due to illness.

We commemorate Heval Bawer with respect and gratitude, and we promise that we will protect his revolutionary and artistic legacy and make his unfinished dreams come true.”
