Ronahî Serhad: Women will continue to demand freedom for Öcalan - PART TWO

PAJK Coordination member Ronahî Serhad said that women will continue to demand freedom for Öcalan.

In the second part of her interview with ANF, PAJK Coordination member Ronahî Serhad, said that "women will continue to demand freedom for Öcalan from 8 March to Newroz."

How does the Kurdistan Women's Freedom Party (PAJK) assess the results of the March 8 protests in terms of its struggle?

The will to struggle that emerged on 8 March has already determined the success of 2022 and showed us the way to victory. Different women, from the oldest to the youngest, from all ethnic groups, including Kurds, Arabs, Turks, Armenians and Assyrians, taught a historical lesson to the monist, fascist AKP-MHP government. As the most sexist, nationalist, reactionary and oppressive government in the history of Turkey, the only alternative to the AKP-MHP government is women. The women who entered 2022 struggle with the slogan "Women-Life-Freedom", which set out with the "Women's Time Now" struggle program, are the most revolutionary force of change. 8 March is the history of rebellion of our century against all nation-state male-dominated structures that have displaced peoples from their homeland with their war policies, dragged them into insolvency and chaos, oppressing women at the expense of strengthening their power, and leaving the society to poverty, hunger and epidemics.

In this sense, 8 March is not just a celebration, it is a rebellion to defend our existence as women and to ensure our freedom. Women are the actors of social change, they are the most dynamic revolutionary force. It has been seen that women are a real social force in Kurdistan, and the most fundamental anti-system movement in the region and the world, determining the political line of the century. Women will establish their own systems of freedom, democracy, justice and beauty and build a new society by aiming to overcome the usurping, colonial patriarchal system, as a capitalist, nation-state system, and as a militarist and sexist system.

Aware that no problems of social freedom and democracy can be solved without women being free, and that sexist strategies and policies that exclude women will not bring a solution, all struggling women took care of themselves, life, society and nature on 8 March. Now is the time for the free women paradigm.

How will the enthusiasm of 8 March reflect on this year's Newroz?

Revealing the 21st century's strategy for the century of women's freedom, Rêber Apo defends the thesis of winning the century in favour of women by breaking all the rules, and also presents the life stolen from women as the birth of democratic civilization and re-systematizes it. Women participating in the campaign which aims at the freedom of Rêber Apo, with the slogan 'Dem dema jinan e', will carry the demand for freedom of Rêber Apo to Newroz as the freedom of women.”
