SDF says attacks by Turkey and its proxies in Tishrin, Qereqozaq and Der Hafir thwarted

The SDF Press Center said that the attacks carried out by the Turkish state and its proxies in Tishrin, Qereqozaq and Der Hafir on Sunday, 23 February, have been thwarted.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) Press Center published a 24-hour balance sheet detailing the attacks carried out by the Turkish state and its proxies.

The balance sheet said: “On Sunday, the proxies linked to the occupying Turkish state attacked a post belonging to our forces around the Tishrin Dam with the support of Turkish state warplanes and armed drones. When our fighters responded to the attack, a clash broke out, and the gangs suffered deaths and injuries.”

The statement added: "On the Der Hafir front, the gangs also attacked a post belonging to our forces with the support of the occupying Turkish state drones. When our fighters responded to the attack, violent clashes broke out. Our fighters destroyed a military post and a motorcycle belonging to the gangs.

The warplanes belonging to the occupying Turkish state bombed the villages of Tîna and Melha around the Qereqozaq Bridge. Material damage occurred as a result of the attack. In addition, the villages of Tîna, Cade, Bîro Hiso, Xeseq, Dîkan, Melha, Sina and the hills of Sêvê and Qereqozaq were randomly bombed by the invaders more than 80 times with howitzers, tanks, rockets and mortars. Material damage occurred to the properties of the citizens as a result of the attacks."

The statement underlined that "the gangs attempted to attack posts belonging to our forces with air and howitzer support. Clashes broke out when our fighters responded to these attempts. As a result of the clashes, the attacks were thwarted and the gangs suffered deaths and injuries.

The activity of the Turkish warplanes and drones continued throughout the day in the cities and countryside of Kobanê and Ain Issa."
