15-year-old child remanded in custody in Istanbul

A 15-year-old child was remanded in custody on charges of “making propaganda for a terrorist organization.”

A 15-year-old child named N.V. was taken into custody on 12 November for participating in the protests against trustees in the Küçükçekmece district of Istanbul.

After completing security procedures, N.V. was brought to the Criminal Court of Peace late on Thursday night by the prosecutor’s office with a request for arrest.

The judge ruled that he be arrested on charges of “making propaganda for a terrorist organization.”

N.V. was taken to the Maltepe Children and Youth Closed Prison.
