During the spring semester final exams at Damanhour University in Egypt, questions were asked about Abdullah Öcalan’s February 27 ‘Call for Peace and a Democratic Society’ and about the Kurds.
Egyptian academic Dr. Muhammad Rifat El Imam, who had previously expressed various views on the Kurdish issue, asked the following questions to the students:
* For a century (1925-2025), the Kurds have been subjected to policies of Iranization, Turkification, and Arabization. Provide evidence to support this claim and indicate the similarities and differences.
* On February 27, 2025, international thinker Abdullah Öcalan issued a ‘Call for Peace and Democratic Society.’ What is your opinion?
* What is the role of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in reviving the Kurdish issue?
The questions in the exam were widely discussed on social media.
