Officials from Eutelsat have admitted that the Turkish state has sent a letter demanding Med Nuçe’s broadcast be stopped.
Following the coup on the opposition media by the fascist Turkish state and the plug being pulled in networks that were the voice of Kurds, Alevis and workers, Eutelsat ordered Med Nuçe TV’s broadcast be stopped. Kurdish people and allies in Paris gathered in front of the Eutelsat building yesterday at 15.00 and held a protest.
There was heavy police presence in front of the Eutelsat building and the announcements called for the protesters to disperse, but the protesters remained and demanded a meeting with company officials.
France Democratic Kurdish Council (CDK-F) officials met with Eutelsat officials and afterwards made the announcement that “Eutelsat officials have admitted that the Turkish state has sent a letter to Eutelsat via RTÜK (Radio and Television Supreme Council) demanding Med Nuçe’s broadcast be stopped.”
The company officials said they couldn’t give more information on the matter, then Kurdish demonstrators and allies ended the 3-hour long protest by marching to the metro station, surrounded by the police.
The crowd went to Paris Democratic Kurdish Society Center and assessed the situation, then decided to continue the protest today.
