KON-MED calls on Belgian authorities to abandon anti-democratic methods

The Confederation of Kurdistan Societies in Germany condemned the Belgian police raids on Kurdish television channels Stêrk TV and Medya Haber and called on the Belgian authorities to abandon these anti-democratic methods.

The Confederation of Kurdistan Societies in Germany (KON-MED) released a statement strongly condemning the raids on Kurdish television channels and called on the Belgian authorities to "abandon this anti-democratic attitude and these methods of intimidation as soon as possible".

Stating that millions of Kurds watch Stêrk TV and Medya Haber TV, KON-MED called on the Kurdish people and friends in Germany to take to the streets.

"We call on all our people to protect their televisions against the attempts to silence the free press," KON-MED said.
