101 refugees of Afghan nationality were detained in a vehicle stopped by soldiers in Van.

101 refugees of Afghan nationality were detained in a truck that was stopped at a military checkpoint established in the Muradiye district of Van.

Making a written statement on the subject, the Van Governor's Office said: "101 migrants from Afghanistan who were found to have entered the country illegally, hidden in the frame of a truck which was stopped for control purposes at around 4 am on 17 April by the Muradiye District Gendarmerie Command teams affiliated to the Van Provincial Gendarmerie Command, were caught.”

Two people, the driver of the truck and a person considered to be the organizer of the smuggling, were arrested.
