Another political prisoner lost his life in a prison of the Turkish state, where systematic rights violations and arbitrary inhumane practices are at their peak.
20-year-old Reber Soydan, a political prisoner, was being held in a single cell in Van F Type High Security Prison.
Prison authorities called Soydan's father, Mehmet Selim Soydan, in the morning and claimed that he had committed suicide.
The body of Soydan, who allegedly ended his life by hanging himself in the cell, was taken to Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaş Medical Hospital for autopsy procedures.
Reber Soydan was arrested 2 years ago in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari.
Soydan was sentenced to life imprisonment for allegedly "disrupting the unity and integrity of the country", a systematic and arbitrary accusation directed against Kurds. Soydan was sentenced to a total of 53 years in prison.
While thousands of sick prisoners are condemned to death in the prisons of the Turkish state, inhumane practices in prisons have cost the lives of dozens of prisoners in recent years.
