It came out that as many as 70 prisoners in Van T Type Closed Prison have been exiled to other prisons on 16 March. These include 10 prisoners who went on indefinite-irreversible hunger strike on 8 March in protest at the severe human rights violations in jails. The reason for the forced transfer of the inmates, and to which prison they have been sent, was not disclosed.

Names of the 10 prisoners on hunger strike are: Gani Kaya, Mahsun Yüksekdağ, Dilgeş Yaşar, İlyas Yorgun, Mesut Yabalak, Abdullah Kaya, Yunus Konak, Kerem Karagöz, İsmail Berke, Taner Aslan.
