93 political prisoners in the notorious Şakran No 3 T Type Prison in Aliağa district of the western İzmir province have started a hunger strike today to protest the arbitrary practices of the prison administration and the increasing right violations.

According to the information gathered from the Initiative for Solidarity with Prisons, the indefinite and alternate hunger strike will continue until the arbitrary practices of the prison administration and right violations are brought to an end.
