Şenyaşar family visits bar association, DEVA party in Amed

The Şenyaşar family continues their resistance for justice. The family visited the bar association and the Democracy and Progress (DEVA) Party in Amed, Diyarbakir.

Emine Şenyasar, who lost her husband and two sons in an armed attack carried out by the AKP Deputy İbrahim Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives in the Suruç district of Urfa, and Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, visited the DEVA Party and the bar association in Amed (Diyarbakır) as part of their justice vigil that marks its 116th day.

“The persecution against us continues through the judiciary. The killers are known. However, there has been no lawsuit for 3 years,” Ferit Şenyaşar said during a visit to the DEVA Party.

“The details of the incident are known by the public. All the evidence is there. But the family does not get a response to this struggle," provincial chair of the party, Cihan Ülsen, noted, adding that his party follows the case.

'ALL RECORDS DELETED'

Emine Şenyasar recalled that her family members were murdered in the hospital garden. “They deleted all the records. My son in prison should be released, they murdered my family. Their children are walking around comfortably outside, mine are dead. Is this justice? They are corrupt and they persecute people. Me and my son are struggling alone. We travel everywhere,” Emine Şenyasar said.

The family later visited the Bar Association for legal support. “We are seeking justice with a piece of paper. My children's blood was in the hospital. I saw it all around. We want justice, this cruelty is enough,” mother Şenyaşar said shedding tears.

'WE NEED SUPPORT'

Ferit Şenyaşar informed the bar association about the file. “We expect everyone who embraces human values to support our struggle. They threaten us with death, but we are not afraid. We will either die during our struggle or ensure justice,” he said.

Head of the Amed Bar Association, Nahit Eren said that, "The issue of impunity in Turkey is getting serious. We are talking about the death of 3 people, but there is a restraining order on the file. They do not allow the family and lawyers to examine the file. We will follow the process until the end. We promise that we will support them.”
