Şenyaşar speaks at the Democracy Conference: “They killed my whole family”

Emine Şenyaşar spoke at the Democracy Conference and said that “Turkish authorities are brutal. President Erdoğan makes Halil İbrahim Yıldız a deputy. They killed my whole family. Do not leave us alone.”

The Şenyaşar family attended the Democracy Conference held at the Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Centre in Istanbul. Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit Şenyaşar made speeches at the conference.

'THEY ARE BRUTAL!'

Addressing the conference participants in Kurdish, Mother Emine Şenyaşar told that her husband and children were brutally murdered.

The mother stated that the camera records in the hospital were deleted and added that one of his sons is kept in isolation in prison while the murderers are walking outside freely.

Şenyaşar made clear that they have been subjected to constant detentions during their struggle for justice and that the persecution against them is continuing: “What have we done? They are so brutal. Erdoğan made Halil İbrahim Yıldız a deputy. Doesn't he know that Yıldız is involved in usury, corruption and massacre? They destroyed my family. I cannot take it anymore. I can't stay at home. I leave the house in the morning and go to the courthouse and return in the evening. I just demand justice. My son in prison should be released. All I want is justice. We are alone in this struggle. We ask everyone to support our struggle.”

After Şenyaşar's speech, slogan "Justice for the Şenyaşar family" was chanted in the conference room.

'OUR FIGHT WILL CONTINUE, WE NEED SUPPORT'

Ferit Şenyaşar pointed to the fact that there is still a ‘confidentiality’ order over the investigation file even though more than three years have passed since the massacre. He said that since an effective investigation is not carried out, they were detained several times just because they demanded and fought for justice. “We will continue their struggle until justice will prevail” he said and called for support.

The conference is continuing with the speeches of other participants.
