Mecit Yılmaz, a common prisoner in Van T Type Closed Prison, was sent back to the ward without treatment from the infirmary where he was taken on Monday and died as a result of a heart attack.
According to the information received, the common prisoner named Mecit Yılmaz was taken to the prison's infirmary after he became ill on Monday, 17 June.
The infirmary doctor sent Yılmaz back to the ward, saying that "there was nothing wrong." It was stated that Yılmaz died of a heart attack a short time later.
His body was taken to the morgue of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Dursun Odabaş Medical Center for autopsy.
Following these procedures, the body was buried in the cemetery in Iskele District of Van's Tûşba (Tuşba) district late at night.
