Solidarity with Families Who Lost Their Relatives in the Cradle of Civilizations, Solidarity, Unity and Culture Association (MEBYA DER) made a statement for the HPG guerrilla Barış Bardakçı, who was martyred in Hakkari's Çukurca district on July 2 and whose body was not given to his family. MEBYA DER members and Bardakçı's family, who came together in Yeniköy Asri Cemetery in the central Bağlar district of Amed, calling for the remains to be delivered as soon as possible.
Father Şükrü Bardakçı said that he went to Hakkari and then to the Malatya Forensic Medicine Institute to get the body of his son, and he received the reply that the body was not in the Forensic Medicine Institute.
THE STATE PUTS THE FAMILY OFF
Bardakçı told that he went to Hakkari again on July 10, this time he met with the Hakkari Chief Public Prosecutor who revealed that the file was in Çukurca. The man thereupon went to Çukurca; "I had a talk with the prosecutor who said that I must give a blood sample. I gave a blood sample for DNA testing at the State Hospital. After that, the prosecutor said to me, “We will send the file to the Hakkari Public Prosecutor. They will be the addressee from now on.”
Father Bardakçı expressed that the DNA results were revealed during the talks with the Çukurca Prosecutor's Office and that his son was buried in the cemetery of the nameless, grave number 3. The man said, “I talked to the Hakkari Chief Public Prosecutor on the phone. He said the file did not come to him. During the meeting I held later on, he said that the file was incomplete and was sent back to the Çukurca prosecutor's office. This situation has been continuing for about 4 months. Why are they making me go through all this? Let them give me my son’s body.”
