The case against 39 people accused in the operation ‘Return to life’, which resulted in death of 12 prisoners in Bayrampaþa Prison on 19 December 2000, was adjourned to 6 April 2011.
The case of Reviving Operation continued in Bakýrköy 13. High Criminal Court. The statements of the accused were taken in the trial. The court board gave the decision of bringing the accused Hasan Köse, Yakup Yaðcý, Asim Bulut, Murat Yýlmaz, Abdullah Pala, Orhan Turgut, Musa Tarhan to the court by force as they didn’t attend the hearing.
In the trial, the court board decided for warrant of arrest for accused Bayram Mavi, Mustafa Ece and Yusuf Aktepe and exempting of 28 accused, whose statements were taken in the trial.
The court board asked for writing warrant to Chief of General Staff Control Office Presidency, Gendarme General Command, Gendarme Ýstanbul Regional Command and Ýstanbul Gendarme Provincial Command to find out if the accused were charged in Bayrampaþa Prison or not. The board also decided for writing to Eyüp Chief Public Prosecutor's Office concerning which actions were taken about Minister of Justice of the period Hikmet Sami Türk, Interior Minister Saddettin Tantan, Bayrampaþa Prison Official Captain Zeki Bingöl, Ex-Force Commander Retiree Full General Aytaç Yalman, Ýstanbul Ex-Chief Public Prosecutor Ferzan Çitici, Bayrampaþa Prison Prosecutor Fikret Ünalan, 1. And 2. Wardens and Ankara Gendarme Special Command of Public Security, Halkalý Gendarme Battalion Commander and European side Reorganized Company Commander crew. The trial was adjourned to 6 April 2011 for the elimination of deficiencies.
