Saadet Özkan, Chair of the Saadet Teacher Association for Combating Child Abuse, announced that a child in Istanbul, had been subjected to systematic sexual abuse for years by teachers as well as her father and uncle. 27 people were detained in relation to the incident.

Saadet said in a statement made on his social media account, "Our 8-year-old child in Istanbul was abused by her father, uncle and teachers until the age of 15".

Stating that there are other children who have been abused, Özkan said: “These vile 27 people do not deserve to breathe with us outside. We will not leave the mother, brother-in-law and sister of the child alone. We will come to that trial in Istanbul with a large army of lawyers."

Yücel Ceylan, the vice president of the association, drew attention to the presence of 6 more abused children on 6 December.
