The situation of disabled prisoners Ergin Aktaş, Serdal Yıldırım and Abdullah Turan, is getting worse.
According to a report by Mezopotamya Agency, Abdullah Turan, who was not released despite a report stating that "he cannot stay in prison" released by the Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK), was taken to Başakşehir City Hospital on November 24.
Turan, who was examined here, was taken back to prison without being treated. Turan got worse again the same night and the same procedure was followed, after which he was taken to prison and put in a quarantine cell.
Turan’s father, Mehmet Zahit Turan, said that he was talking to his son on a visit carried out behind the security glass. He said that he came from Amed to see his son and that his son told him that his condition was bad. Turan’s father considered that his son's detention in prison despite the Forensic Medicine Institute report was endangering his life.
Referring to the arrest and detention process of his son, Turan’s father stated that his son was detained by soldiers in village houses when he was a high school student and later tortured at the police station. Turan said that the torture continued in the police school and the prison in Amed where he was first detained before being taken to Trabzon prison.
Saying that his son needs care, Turan added: “My son is staying with Aktaş, who has no hands, and Yıldırım, who has no feet and has platinum on his back. They are in the same situation. What do they want from these people? They say he cannot be released because ‘he represents a threat’. A person who cannot stand up, on his back, who is unable to drink, eat, and lift his head off the pillow. How can he represents a threat? They say this because he is a Kurd."
