'He cannot stand up'

Songül Ilker had a closed visit with her son in prison on Tuesday. Making statements after the visit, Ilker said that her son's health condition is getting worse. "Because of his health problems, the hunger strike has reached a critical stage. My son almost fell to the ground when he got up. He is very ill. The hunger strike affects him a lot."

Psychological pressure by the guards

Ilker said that the guards applied psychological pressure to her son and wanted him to end the hunger strike. Ilker said that he told her that he would call off the hunger strike until his demands are accepted.

HDP's Murat Çepni also met face-to-face with the first Director of the Prison, Ali Rıza Yıldırım. Yıldırım told the MP: "Let them submit their petition, we will send them to the hospital immediately."

However, Ilker said that she did not have any problems with the referral of her son to hospitals, and, but added that after the referrals her son was sent to the hospital without being examined or treated. Ilker, who said that the prison director was not honest about this issue, demanded a formal commitment on the side of the prison director to treat her son.
