Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar will continue their Vigil for Justice during Ramadan

Emine and Ferit Şenyaşar will continue their act of resistance in front of the courthouse in Urfa during Ramadan. The family, which will have the iftar at the vigil, called for solidarity.

Body guards and relatives of AKP deputy Ibrahim Halil Yıldız killed Emine Şenyaşar’s husband and two of her sons, Adil and Celal, in the attack against the family shop in Suruç in June 2018.

For 36 days, Emine and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, have been sitting in front of the courthouse in Urfa demanding justice.

‘We will have our iftar here’

Ferit Şenyaşar underlined the repression they are subjected to and said: "If there had been a fair trial, my arrested brother would have been released. My family is in shambles. My brother is being held in isolation. We won’t go home. We will be here during the month of Ramadan. We will have our iftar [the meal eaten after sunset] here. We will not go. We will not leave before the 23 people named by the prosecutor are arrested,"

Ferit Şenyaşar said that the relatives of AKP deputy Yıldız, who attacked them in the hospital, were recruited in Suruç Municipality and the state institutions, and added: "The people we identified are working in public institutions. My brother did not kill anyone. The expert reports prove this."

The Şenyaşar family called for solidarity.
