Five people were taken into custody in house raids conducted on Tuesday morning on charges of dancing halay at a wedding in Osmaniye.
Hivda Kahraman, whose security procedures were completed, was remanded in custody by the Criminal Court of Peace on charges of “making propaganda for a terrorist organization.” The procedures for Hakan Kahraman and Murat Kahraman, including Peoples’ Equality and Democratic Party (DEM Party) Osmaniye Central District co-chairs Sevgi Aydın and Faruk Kahraman, were completed at the TEM Branch of the Osmaniye Provincial Police Department. The four people were sent to the Osmaniye Courthouse.
Sevgi Aydın, Faruk Kahraman, Hakan Kahraman and Murat Kahraman, who were taken to the Osmaniye Criminal Court of Peace, were sent to prison on charges of “making propaganda for a terrorist organization” for waving yellow, red and green handkerchiefs while dancing the halay accompanied by Kurdish songs.
