HDP Women's Council condemned Iranian execution of Kurds

HDP Women's Council condemned the Iranian regime execution of Kurdish activists.

HDP Women's Council has issued a written statement on the execution by the Iranian regime of  Kurdish activists Loqman and Zanyar Muradi and Ramin Hossein Panahi.

"It made us think - said the statement - that the violation of the right to life of these three men coincided with President Erdogan visit to Iran, right when the Saturday Mothers were demanding truth and justice for the disappeared people in custody”

The HDP Women's Council continued: “Iran, on of the country with the highest number of death penalty sentences in the world, use execution to strengthen its reactionary regime and prevent opposition”.

Today, continued the statement “women are the most exposed to the consequences of a human crime like death, and again, most women object to this crime of humanity. Ramin Hosseyin Panahi nephew Nishiman Hossein Panahi ended his life when he learned of the death sentence imposed on his uncle”.

The HDP Women’s Council continued: “Death penalty is rejected and considered illegal and a grave violation of human rights by all human rights laws and conventions signed by the international institutions, in particular the United Nations Convention on Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights.

The way we can get out of this violent vortex that has embraced the lands we live in is by stop the killing. Sentencing Kurds, women and opponents to death penalty is a crime against humanity, as it has been repeated many times. The Iranian regime must immediately end this crime of humanity”.
