Hearing of Emine Şenyaşar postponed

The hearing of Emine Şenyaşar who is accused of "insulting" AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız has been postponed.

Emine Şenyaşar, who lost her husband and two sons in a massacre organized by the AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız's bodyguards and relatives on 14 June 2018 in the Suruç district of Urfa, and her son Ferit Şenyaşar, who was injured in the same attack, are continuing the justice vigil in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The vigil, launched on March 9 in 2021, marks its 785th day.

Emine Şenyaşar has today appeared before a judge for allegedly "insulting a public official". Emine Şenyaşar and his son Ferit Şenyaşar, who has recently been elected as an MP from the Green Left Party, attended the hearing at the 5th Criminal Court of Peace in Urfa. Emine Şenyaşar rejected the allegations against her. Şenyaşar's lawyers accused police officers in the investigation of malfeasance.
