On 27 November political prisoners in Turkish jails went on hunger strike demanding the end of the isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the ever-increasing violations in prisons. The action is being carried out by diffferent groups fasting for a number of days. The protest has entered its 21st day and is being carried out by the 5th group of prisoners.
PKK and PAJK prisoners sent a message from prison, saying the following; “The objective of the hunger strike launched by the PKK and PAJK prisoners in all prisons is not only to end the isolation conditions on our Leader but also to achieve his physical freedom. We will not give up our action until our Leader is freed. On this basis, we call for public support for our action.”
