IHD protest at deportation of children to an other prison

The Human Rights Association (IHD) has criticized the transfer of imprisoned children to Diyarbakir prison. Lawyer Keziban Yilmaz, from the IHD Diyarbakir Branch said that "our children are not living in Gaza but they are being killed like in Gaza or sentenced to incredibly long years in prison". Yilmaz also spoke about Diren Basan, who was just 10 years old, and has been killed by an armored police vehicle two days ago.

IHD read out a press release to support the sit-in staged by the families of imprisoned children. The kids are charged under the anti-terror legislation (TMK). Keziban Yildiz addressed the crowd saying that “the families were expecting their children being freed but the administration has instead deported them to another prison without any notice. Being deported is going to add new traumas to the kids who already suffer because of the imprisonment itself. Furthermore - said the lawyer - the children have been kept in their cells for three days before being moved. What kind of incomprehensible mentality tortures these children and why? Inhuman methods practiced against children cannot be considered as part of the solution of the problems in our country. Our country is not Gaza but our children are being killed like in Gaza.”
