A 15 year-old boy, who was arrested and taken to Mersin Closed Prison, was reportedly put in a one-person cell.

The boy’s sister Gülten Kaya said that her brother had been so much mistreated that he couldn’t even speak when she visited him in Mersin Closed Prison where he was taken to after being detained 3 days ago in Mersin for “organization membership” and making “propaganda for the organization”. Sister Kaya told that her brother, who always speaks and cheers normally, could hardly speak there and burst into tears, adding that guardians are often round on her brother and harass him.

Kaya spoke that when she went to the prison administration to speak about her brother’s transfer to Pozantý Prison, she was told that her brother could be sent to Pozantý Prison only when there are a few more prisoners to be sent to there. Kaya said; “This is a grievous wrong execution. My brother is mentally depressed. A 15 year-old child mustn’t be exposed to all these”.

Kaya applied to ÝHD (Human Rights Association) and asked for a solution to the right abuse her brother is exposed to.
