A mass demonstration will be held in front of the Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) building in Strasbourg on April 13 in order to raise awareness on the hunger strikes across Turkish prisons. Kurdish people living in South Germany, Switzerland and France will participate in the demonstration at 13:00 on April 13, Thursday.
Several organizations including the Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (TJK-E), Ciwanên Azad, Democratic Kurdish Society Center and Martyrs' Families Institution are organising the demonstration.
TJK-E representative spoke to ANF and said the CPT's response to a call on the prison hunger strikes was that they have no information on the issue.
The TJK-E representative drew attention the importance of the demonstration demanding an end to the torture and mistreatment in prisons in Turkey and North Kurdistan, and emphasized that the prisoners on hunger strike should not be left alone in their protest.
The TJK-E representative called for strong participation in the demonstration which -she said- will be held in order to raise awareness in European countries on the hunger strike in prisons.
