Mother handed over body of her son 7 years after his death

The body of Aydın Kurt, who fell a martyr in Gever in 2016, was delivered to his family 7 years after his death.

The body of People's Defense Units (YPS) member Aydın Kurt, who was among the 90 people who fell as martyrs during the genocidal attacks in Colemêrg's Gever (Yüksekova) district in 2016, was handed over to his family 7 years after his death.

The family learned that the result of the DNA sample they gave in 2016 matched that of their son, so they went to the Nameless Cemetery in Erzirom where they were handed over the remains, which will be buried in Yeniköy Cemetery in Amed's Rêzan (Bağlar) district.

'I never gave up hope'

Speaking to JINNEWS, Peyruze Kurt, the mother of Aydın, said that she gave blood samples and wrote petitions many times to find her son's body and added: "I am very happy to finally bring my son's body to Amed. I consider my son a comrade and guest of Çiyager. I believe that thousands of young people will claim his unfinished cause. My hope is high for this. I will protect his cause until the last drop of my blood. I have been looking for my son's bones for 7 years. I believe that Kurdistan will be established, just as I found my son's body 7 years after his death. I kept searching for him without giving up hope."
