The health condition of Ekim Polat, a seriously ill prisoner in Denizli T Type Closed Prison, is getting worse. The sit-in protest staged by Polat's mother, Songül İlker, in front of the Denizli T Type Prison demanding treatment for her son, continues on its third day.
The protesting mother said that her son went on a hunger strike after he had been denied treatment in prison. While Ekim Polat is on the 15th day of his hunger strike, his mother insists that she will continue the sit-in protest in front of the prison.
“Everyone should provide support and assume responsibility. I invite everyone to pay attention to my appeal until the obstacles to the treatment of sick prisoners are removed,” the mother said.
