Police attacked the Şenyaşar family who is demanding justice in front of the Urfa Courthouse. The family continues their action during the police blockade.
Turkish police attacked Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit, who had been holding a sit-in front of the Urfa Courthouse for 17 days, demanding justice for their three family members killed in 2018 and for another family member who is in prison.
The Şenyaşarlar family came to the courthouse in the morning with their demands written on cards they put on easels.
The police approached the family and said they would not allow the cards attached to easels for painting as the court is a "public building". The police then confiscated the easels. Ferit Şenyaşar tried to resist and told the police that they have not been interfering with the normal activity of the court for 17 days.
On the other hand, the police prevented journalists from taking pictures and videos saying that they had "enough" footage, and checked the journalists’ identity cards.
Emine Şenyaşar and her son Ferit said they will continue the action.
