After serving 30 years and 6 months in prison, AhmedAdil was released from Antalya Döşemealtı High-Security Closed Prison.
In 1994, he was sentenced to life imprisonment by the military court at the time on charges of 'disrupting the unity and integrity of the state.'
Adil was welcomed by his family and representatives of the Association for Solidarity with Prisoners and Their Families (TUAYDER) in front of the prison. He expressed mixed emotions, saying that he felt both joy and sorrow.
He noted that he was supposed to be released six months earlier, but his release was delayed. Adil also emphasized that prisoners support the 'Call for Peace and a Democratic Society' and expressed their hope for peace.
After being welcomed outside the prison, Adil departed for his hometown, Mardin.
