Necdet Öztürk, a prisoner in Kırşehir High Security Prison, said that he no longer has security of life and said that if something happens to him, the prison administration will be responsible.
In his weekly phone call to his family living in Antep (Dîlok), prisoner Necdet Öztürk said that his basic rights are not being recognized and that he has no security of life.
Öztürk, who is in Kırşehir High Security Prison, had previously told his family that the inmates had started a protest on 16 September demanding that they be brought together to do activities.
Öztürk said that he would hold the prison responsible for anything that might happen to him and added: "If anything happens to me in this prison, the administration will be responsible. The authorities do not respect human rights."
Öztürk was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment, and stated that he was not granted the rights determined by the law. "These rights do not apply to me. I want everyone to know that."
