Human rights defenders and relatives of prisoners protested ill-treatment of Turkish guards against prisoners in Kiriklar F-Type Prison in Izmir.

Members of Human Rights Association (IHD) and Association of Prisoners Relatives (TAYD-DER) gathered in front of Kiriklar F-Type Prison today.

Carrying banners which read "End to ill-treatment in prisons" the protestors used whistles to make their voices heard by the prisoners in Kiriklar.

A press statement was read during the protest in Turkish and Kurdish which says the ill-treatment against the prisoners in Kiriklar continues and prisoners are subjected to harsh disciplinary sentences when they try to protest.

The group called all NGO's to show solidarity with the prisoners in Kiriklar.
