Remains of prisoner Yazicı taken to Van
The body of ill prisoner Bişar Yazıcı, who was held in Van High Security Closed Prison, was transferred to Amed, where he died after his condition worsened, and was taken from Diyarbakır ATK.
The body of ill prisoner Bişar Yazıcı, who was held in Van High Security Closed Prison, was transferred to Amed, where he died after his condition worsened, and was taken from Diyarbakır ATK.
Bişar Yazıcı (52), who was held in Van High Security Prison, was taken to Diyarbakır Dicle University Hospital on 23 June due to his worsening health. Yazıcı, who was treated for liver failure there, died in the evening.
The body of Yazici was brought to Diyarbakir Forensic Medicine Institute (ATK). Zeyyat Ceylan and Gulistan Atasoy, Provincial co-chairs of the Families of Detainees and Convicts Assistance Association (TUHAY-DER), Lawyers' Association for Freedom (ÖHD) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), also came to ATK to support the family.
After the official procedures were completed here, family members set off for Van to bury him. The body will be buried in Ergali (Çavuşlar) neighbourhood, in Van.
