Prisoners Adana Kürkçüler F Type Closed Prison, told their families that they will go on an alternating hunger strike against isolation and torture. The prisoners drew attention to the continued heavy isolation imposed on the Kurdish people's leader, Abdullah Öcalan.
In a statement shared with the public on behalf of all political prisoners, they said: "The isolation in Imrali and the pressure and harsh policies carried out on us in prison have now turned into physically eliminating us. We will no longer accept this. Let us have an honourable death, but we won’t accept this dishonourable repression. That’s why we will go on hunger strike after 14 July. Our action will continue in groups which will fast for 5 days each. If the repression policies against us are not ended and our demands are not accepted, we will turn our action into an indefinite and irreversible hunger strike. We are starting with a 5-day alternating hunger strike action as a warning to the prison administration."
