The AKP/Palace regime continues its attacks, repression and bans against prisoners across Turkey and Northern Kurdistan.

Prisoners in Patnos L Type Closed Prison, which remains on the agenda with rights violations since the first day it entered into service, are not given the Kurdish daily Welat and newspaper Özgürlükçü Demokrasi (Libertarian Democracy) for months. It has been learned that the prison administration banned the two newspapers without putting forward any reason or justification.
