While lymph cancer patient Nurettin Soysal in Diyarbakýr D Type Prison is getting worse, PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) prisoners started a 2 days hunger strike for Soysal. Prisoners stated that there is not any hope of medical treatment for Soysal and added; “Our friend is dying off beside us and we are watching his death here”.

Making a topical written statement, PKK prisoners stated that Soysal is getting closer to death day by day. The statement of the prisoners was as follows; “Against this lived savagery and cruelty; we, PKK  prisoners, are stating that we have started a two days alternate hunger strike for warning purpose. We specify that our attitude will be much different if our friend loses his life in the prison. We will no more keep silent against the deaths that are forced by AKP Government. Kurdish prisoners struggling with a serious illness like cancer are left to die; while those, who make a coup attempt against the Prime Minister, are released due to smallest health problems. We have a strong condemn against the inhuman fascistic approach to our friend Nurettin Soysal, who has been fighting for the well-being, democracy and freedom of our people throughout his life.”
