It has been learned that political prisoners Burhan Çelik, Mehmet Taç and Mazlum Erdem in Adana Ceyhan Type M Closed Prison are on indefinite-irreversible hunger strike since April 4. Four more prisoners, Yumlu Üstün, Zafer Bahadır, Ömer Toluk and Mustafa Özer, have also joined the hunger strike today.

As the indefinite-irreversible hunger strike launched by 21 prisoners in Balıkesir Bandırma Type T Prison on April 5 continues, it is claimed that the prisoners on hunger strike have been battered and forcibly taken to hospital this morning.

According to prisoner Muzaffer Akengin who talked to his family via phone today, prison guards and gendarmes entered the ward of hunger strikers this morning, handcuffed them and took them to hospital. Those refusing to go to hospital were battered.

The prisoners on hunger strike in Bandırma are: Emir Yüce, Murat Kepenek, Mehmet Emin Yıldırım, Kerem Budak, Engin Okutucu, Maşallah Eren, Yunus Üşümüş, Agit Yılmaz, Şahin Geges, Abdullah Kaya, Metin Gezen, Mikail Bilgin, Hamza Altun, Şeyhmus Can, Cihan Ubraş, Kamil İzgi, Fesih Taş, Yusuf Serhat Bilgis, Hasan Abit, Ümit Ağırbaş and a prisoner with the last name Taş.
