Saturday Mothers staged new protest in Istanbul

Once again the Saturday Mothers met in Istanbul, in front of Galatasaray High School. This week was the 271th. They were there to ask justice for their loved ones, the disappeared people of Turkey. The meeting this week was dedicated to Abdurrahman Coskun, who disappeared 17 years ago when he was a high school student and to grandfather Bahri and his 14 year old grandson Metin Budak, who disappeared 16 years ago while working together in the garden.

Once again the relatives of the disappeared people of Turkey asked for justice and to know what really happened to their loved ones.

Abdurrahman Coskun, disappeared 17 years ago when he was a high school student in Dargecit, Mardin. Coskun’s sister-in-law said that “the State took Abdurrahman in the best years of his youth. PM Erdogan has no right to criticize Israel since his administration is killing our children as well as covering up our loved ones disappearance".

Grandfather Bahri and his 14 year old grandson Metin Budak disappeared 16 years ago while they were working together in the garden. Duriye Sezgin recalled that “their remains have been found 11 years after they disappeared. On the spot where the remains were found also shells and a bullet belonging to the army were found. But the military officers have immunity”.
