PKK and PAJK prisoners launched a hunger strike in all prisons on 27 November to protest the aggravated isolation imposed on Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and against the violations of rights against the prisoners further aggravated under the pretext of "measures" necessary to avoid the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
Three prisoners in Van High Security Closed Prison, another three in Van F-Type Closed Prison, and one prisoner in Van T Type Closed Prison have gone on hunger strike.
The names of the prisoners on hunger strike in Van F Type Closed Prison are as follows: Aydın Kuş, Sinan Bitik, Rezan Mahmut. The prisoners will later pass on hunger strike to prisoners named Hasan Akman, Izbat Oran and Seyithan Çalışır.
