Political prisoners in 38 jails launched a campaign support across East Kurdistan, Rojhilat.
Families of political prisoners, dissident youth, and human rights activists from 20 cities across East (Rojhilat) Kurdistan, Iran, and Europe have declared their participation in the “No to Execution on Tuesdays” campaign, expressing solidarity with the political prisoners who initiated it from inside 38 prisons.
Activists voiced their opposition to the death penalty by holding banners that read “No to Execution,” “Abolish Death Sentences,” and “Don’t Kill Our Children.”
Women political prisoners in Evin Prison also lent their voices to the campaign with strong and clear slogans. They declared, “Silencing, executions, and threats will not work,” “The government must abolish the death penalty,” “Political prisoners must be released,” and “Death to dictators.”
Now in its 69th week, the “No to Execution on Tuesdays” campaign has released a new statement calling on citizens and youth across East Kurdistan and Iran to raise their voices against executions and join the expanding movement.
