The justice vigil carried out by Emine and her son Ferit Şenyaşar continues on the 72nd day. Emine Şenyaşar is protesting the killing of her husband and two sons. The massacre took place in 2018 just before the June elections, and was carried out by the bodyguards and relatives of AKP Urfa MP Ibrahim Halil Yıldız.
The vigil is now being carried out once again on the garden of the courthouse in Urfa since the lockdown imposed for the coronavirus pandemic has been lifted.
Ferit Şenyaşar said: "We have been fighting for justice for 72 days. Today is an official holiday. We have a just cause, whether the courthouse is open or not. A massacre was carried out against our family and the perpetrators are still walking around free. We do not accept this. We are in front of the courthouse and we will not give up this right struggle until a fair trial is celebrated. We invite all conscientious people who say I am human to stand by us."
the family shared a new message on their social media accounts: "Our father and brothers were killed in a hospital. For 3 years, the perpetrators have been walking free, the responsible of this massacre are rewarded with impunity."
