The Freedom for Aysel Tuğluk and Ill Prisoners Platform launches petition

The Freedom for Aysel Tuğluk and Ill Prisoners Platform launched a petition in Izmir.

The Freedom for Aysel Tuğluk and Ill Prisoners Platform made a press statement at Karşıyaka Pier to draw attention to the situation of ill prisoners. Ebru Dinçer read the letter to be sent to the Ministry of Justice on behalf of the platform. “We are going through a period in which it is difficult to follow the many crises experienced in the country. In this process, we think that one of the most important problems is the extreme violations of rights in prisons, the terrible isolation conditions and the fact that prisoners are left face to face with death despite serious health problems. We want to be the voice of ill prisoners, who are surrounded by cruelty and torture, and who are left face to face with death.”

Dinçer said that all segments of society that have not lost their conscience cannot accept these inhumane practices in prison conditions and added: “We demand that the conditions be regulated immediately and the ill prisoners be released before another loss of life occurs. We do not want to be a partners of the mentality that perpetrates this persecution. We insist on remaining human. We invite all the conscientious people who say 'stop' to this persecution."

Dinçer called on people to sign the petition they have launched to demand the release of ill prisoners and Aysel Tuğluk that will be given to the Ministry of Justice.
