Suicide rate among women is dramatically rising. One more suicide news came from Diyadin/Aðrý. The number of people taking their own life in the last two weeks in Diyadin has reached 5.

Þadiye Kaya, was 17 years old (although in the city register office she was registered as being 13), killed herself with a shotgun.

Kaya had lost her father 5 years ago and was living with her mother and two brothers in the Satýcýlar village of Diyadin. In the early hours of the morning she went to her room saying that she will do some cleaning. Turning on the sweeper not to draw attention, Kaya took the shotgun from the other room and shot herself in the head. Familiy members suffered a nervous crisis when they saw Þadiye’s corpse.

The body of the young girl was sent to Trabzon Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy.

The suicides in Diyadin have been steadily rising. In the last two weeks 5 people, 4 of them women and 1 man, committed suicides.

Due to the increasing suicides, shopkeepers in the province organized an action and closed their shops.
