Dozens of workers are losing their lives every day because of the precarious working conditions in Turkey.

A new accident occurred in the morning hours in a quarry located in Arnavutköy district of Istanbul. Two of the workers in the mine were buried when part of the quarry collapsed. A large number of health, fire and police teams were sent to the scene. Firefighters struggled to rescue workers who were trapped under the debris.

A worker called Sabit Deniz was rescued and taken to the hospital by ambulance. However, despite all the interventions made, Deniz lost his life.

The rescue teams reached the lifeless body of another worker, Nuri Deniz.
