The hunger strike launched on 27 November by prisoners to demand the end to the isolation imposed upon Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and the violations in prisons continues on its 51st day.
PKK and PAJK prisoners have launched a hunger strike on 27 November to demand the end of the isolation of Kurdish people’s leader Abdullah Öcalan and the violations in prisons.
The indefinite-alternating hunger strike has reached its 51st day and it’s being carried out by the 11th group of prisoners. Each group carries out the hunger strike for 5 days.
Hunger strike in Maxmur Camp
In parallel, a hunger strike against isolation and in solidarity with the action in the prisons has been launched in Maxmur refugee camp in South Kurdistan on 18 December. The hunger strikers are based at the Maxmur Martyrs' Families Association and various groups have been fasting for a few days each for 31 days.
Hunger strike in Lavrio Camp
A hunger strike has been going in Lavrio refugees camp in Greeceon for 14 days demanding freedom for Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and the end of repression in prisons.
The Revolutionary Youth Movement (TCŞ-Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger), the Kurdish Women's Movement in Europe (Tevgera Jinên Kurdistan a Ewropa) and the Navenda Çanda Kurdistan (Kurdish Cultural Center) are leading the hunger strike.
