Aslı Calıhan, one of the prisoners in Gebze Closed Women's Prison, stated that she was harassed and added that raids were carried out on many wards.
Zeynep Calıhan went to prison on Tuesday to visit her daughter. She said that her daughter told her that riot police, soldiers, gendarmerie, special teams raided the ward were political prisoners are held.
Calıhan added that even the Kurdish language learning diaries were taken during the raid. "They even took a diary because one of Aslı friends wrote 'apple' in Kurdish. They put everything upside down, bed quilts, pillows, they messed everything up. They didn't know what they were looking for. They even took the radio from the prison canteen. After the raid they said 'we did not find what we were looking for'."
Zeynep Calıhan said: "We stand with our children to the end. We do not want them to get harm. As a mother I not accept it. No mother can accept this. We do not accept the persecution of our children."
