10-year-old wounded in mortar attack in Cizre dies

Today's mortar attack in Cizre has killed a 10-year-old kid.

Turkish forces have Sunday afternoon launched a huge wave of attacks in Şırnak's Cizre district where an onslaught by military and police forces continues in its 35th day.

A mortar shell hit a house near Şeyh Seyda Mosque in Kale neighborhood - one of the main areas targeted by Turkish military and police forces-, leaving three people inside heavily wounded.

While residents have tried to rush the wounded to hospital with an ambulance of Cizre Municipality, one of those wounded, 10-year-old Hayrettin Şınık, has died while on the way to hospital.

The other two civilians remain in critical condition.
