The Turkish state continues to declare numerous territories as so-called security zones across North Kurdistan amid ongoing military operations against the Kurdish armed movement and political operations against Kurdish civilians and their elected representatives.
Numerous territories have been taken under military control within the boundaries of Mardin's Mazıdağı, Savur, Dargeçit, Midyat and Nusaybin districts.
According to the decision and statement of Mardin Governorate, a total of 107 locations in 18 regions have been declared a 'security zone' for one year.
The areas in five districts of Mardin will remain prohibited till December 31, 2017.
